Klim
Shifting the paradigm of powersports retail with an immersive shopping experience
THE BRIEF
Action Motorsports, a powersports dealer in Idaho Falls, devoted a section of their store to a Klim branded retail environment. After working with Klim on various retail design projects over the years, we were positioned to take on their biggest one yet. We designed the overall space plan and visual design for the built out space, defining the materials and finishes palette, and developing opportunities for merchandising, experiential touch points, brand lifestyle, messaging, and technical product story telling.
CHALLENGES
We worked with Action’s staff to instill a new approach to powersports retail. Our goal was to shift the focus toward assisting and guiding customers, communicating product benefits, and educating them on different product categories.
SOLUTION
We developed a flexible and modular wall system that provided cross-merchandising opportunities, category and product highlights, messaging and brand visuals, and scalability. The space was furnished with custom-designed retail fixtures displaying Klim’s full line of products. We also built multiple vignettes that immersed the customer through use of props, imagery, and products that would evoke familiarity with customers.

Developing a Cohesive Retail Space
After conducting research and site surveys, we began by developing space plans that considered layout, traffic flow, and merchandising scenarios. Our team explored the visual design language of the space through concept sketches and 3D renderings, adapting and scaling the brand language we had developed for Klim’s retail fixtures in earlier projects.
